At Roots & Wings, we believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, the final authority for all faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that all people are sinners in need of salvation and that this salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by works.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers, empowering them to live a godly life and equipping them for service.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and the calling to love, serve, and encourage one another.
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal life—everlasting joy with God for believers and eternal separation from God for unbelievers.

At Roots & Wings, we believe homesteading is more than a hobby—it’s a way of life that shapes how we raise, teach, and live alongside our children. Our desire is to build a community of like-minded families who walk in faith, work the land, and grow our children together. Each family in our co-op tends to multiple farm animals, cultivates gardens, and/or raises crops. We cook from scratch, feed our families real, wholesome food, and teach our children the value of knowing where their food comes from—from seed to harvest, from pasture to plate.

Homesteading is woven into our homeschooling day, not as a separate subject, but as a living classroom where math, science, history, and life skills come alive. Gathering eggs, planting seeds, milking goats, preserving the harvest—these are not just chores, but lessons in patience, stewardship, and God’s provision. We believe a great work ethic is best taught by working side by side, passing on skills and values through shared tasks and shared lives. And while we raise capable, hardworking children, we also protect and nurture their freedom to simply be kids—to run barefoot through the grass, climb trees, build forts, and wonder at the beauty of God’s creation.

Our vision is to walk this journey together, shoulder to shoulder as families of faith, creating an environment where children grow deep roots in truth and strong wings for their future.

At Roots & Wings, we see homeschooling as more than an educational choice—it is a calling from God to raise our children in His truth and in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We believe that no one is better equipped to teach and disciple our children than we are as their parents, and we do not hand that responsibility to others. Education is not just about academics; it’s about shaping hearts, building character, and guiding our children toward a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.

Homeschooling naturally blends with our homestead lifestyle, where the lines between learning and living disappear. The Bible, the barn, the kitchen, and the garden are all classrooms where our children grow in wisdom, skill, and understanding. In caring for animals, planting seeds, preparing meals, and studying God’s Word, they learn the value of diligence, stewardship, creativity, and service. This lifestyle keeps family at the center of daily life, where relationships are nurtured, conversations are rich, and faith is lived out in the ordinary moments.

We believe the family is the foundation of the church here on earth, and that strong, healthy families build strong, healthy churches. By keeping our children close—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—we are not only investing in their future, but also in the future of the body of Christ. Homeschooling allows us to protect their innocence, steward their gifts, and prepare them to live with courage, conviction, and joy in a world that needs the light of Jesus.
